This is probably one of the best new albums I have heard so far this year, and I am not even a fan of this group, but I could definitely start really liking them now.

The opening track ‘Half truism” is, to me, typically The Offspring. Upbeat and in-your-face. This track draws the listener into wanting to hear more. Brilliant choice for an opener.

The next track I listened to was “Kristy, are you doing okay?” It is a subtle, and yet, hard hitting song. In my interpretation it is speaking of innocence taken without permission. As you may realise, this is a topic very dear to my heart, and full kudos to The Offspring for bringing this to people’s attention.

“Fix you,” although not adjoined to the previous song, is a brilliant follow through, in that it shows how the people on the outside feel looking at their loved ones going through hell and feeling unable to help them in their time of need.

I have briefly listened to other songs off the album, and I would highly recommend it too one and all.

Definitely my favorite band. Not a normal punk band, obviously. They normally don’t have a bubblegum aura about them, and Dexter’s voice is definitely not wimpy, like blink 182 or any of those sold out bands. All time favorite songs are Self-esteem on their Smash album, and Million Miles Away on their Conspiracy of One album. Hit that from their Splinter album was one of my favorites, only because of the intensity of the song. This new album however has brought in many old and new elements that the Offspring is known for doing. They keep true to their old stuff like half-truism, especially Trust In You (a lot like All I Want from their Ixnay on the Hombre album, but nevertheless just as good, if not better), and Hammerhead. Your Gonna Go Far Kid is alot like their usual hits like Can’t Repeat from their Greatest Hits album, and The Kids Aren’t All Right from their Americana album. I think that the track Trust in You is actually talking about God or someone of the sort, but don’t quote me ;-) Anyway, enjoy the album, and hopefully they will continue to produce more great music.

Wow. Thank you so much for your comment. Like I said, I am not a fan of the group, but what you have written is truly inspirational to me. I didn’t even know they had so many albums. Thank you also for sharing your knowledge of the band, I really appreciate this.
