The crime rate in New Zealand is rising, and here we are prosecuting police officers. From the way this story reads, the police officer was only doing his job.
I honestly do empathise with the family of the boy who suffered the injuries. If it were my child involved, I am pretty sure I would feel the same. But to prosecute an officer for this, I am not sure that this was the best course of action. Even if it were my child, I would hope I could show enough logic to know that sometimes innocent by standers get caught up in the flurry.
In this instance, sad but true, there are no winners, except the person who ran from the police who caused this outcome. I hope whoever it was, that they rot in hell.
